I would love to pretend I have the energy for 3 back to back shows, but I’m no Joe Queer. He’s got insane work ethic!
I did map it out and it’s only 36 miles from the other two shows- in case you’re trying to decide if you should add it. Maybe we will get lucky and The Queers will drop in Saturday.
that’s what i’m hoping for! they played my city a couple years back but i wasn’t old enough to go. I’m driving down from canada so debating whether it’s worth it to spend another 2 days driving around the chicago area haha
Even after I posted that, I pulled up the site and almost bought a 3/30 ticket just in case.
Canada is great! We are flying up from New Orleans. I’m on the other end of the age spectrum. And I had my first kid at 18- then between my career, funds, and other kid, the timing was never right. I don’t believe SW ever played Louisiana, not that I blame them. I’m finally making up for lost time.
that sucks!! i managed to catch nofx in edmonton this summer and saw a bunch of other great bands there too, so you win some you lose some i guess. my mom and i had tickets to rage against the machine before covid hit, but it got postponed and then zach de la rocha screwed up his achilles tendon and wont ever play again. i’m trying to get out and see all the aging bands before they stop touring haha
Glad you got to see them! COVID definitely made me realize how much live music matters to me. I like staying home and work didn’t change much, but it was depressing when we were still having shows cancel on us in 2021. Obviously, that’s nothing compared to the lives lost and many other tragedies, but I’m extra grateful now for the ability to do this again. I work for a coroner- you remember daily tomorrow isn’t guaranteed, so live!
man, that work must have been crazy during covid. and yeah, even me having not been to many shows before covid, it was a pretty terrifying prospect to think live music might never come back
Well I think that’s about all the sign I need then! I massively regret not going to LA for NOFX’s final shows, but you’re right, I can’t think of a single show I wish I hadn’t seen
NOFX was actually my first show at 15. I didn’t make the final tour, but caught them at Punk in the Park not too long ago, so I felt like I was good. SW has grown with me while I felt like I stopped relating to NOFX over time. Want to hear something heartbreaking? I missed the final Ramones tour because I had to work some minimum wage job!! I called BS that they’d stop touring…then they all (most) died. Ouch!!
i don’t think weasel have been to canada in about 30 years, and certainly not to SK where I’m from haha, although i did hear the riverdales opened for green day in the city over from mine many years ago. I’m 19 and will have finals coming up in april, but i thought i’d never get to see them live so this isn’t something i’d miss for anything in the world! i might have to buy a ticket for the sunday just in case, although at this point it’s looking like i’ll be following them around for the whole tour
Honestly, do it! Especially if you’ve never seen The Queers; they put on an incredible show. I have many regrets about shows I missed as a teenager but zero regrets for going to any -even if it meant saving money for months and having to study my ass off earlier and show up sleep deprived to class. 19 is a great age!
