Well, the roll-out for the 30th anniversary reissue of Anthem For A New Tomorrow wasn’t as smooth as I’d have liked, but what are you gonna do? Nothing, that’s what, so let’s get to some of the details we didn’t cover on the socials and a few we did.
The album was remixed by Mike Kennerty and remastered by Justin Perkins and I can report it sounds better than it ever has. There’s one thing that I imagine will nettle the nattering nabobs of negativity: we reverted to the Sonic Iguana versions of Every Night and Totally. The versions you’re used to hearing were recorded at a different studio, and the remix of the rest of the album made them sound completely out of place. (We couldn’t match them up to everything else because those tapes disappeared decades ago.) That said, the versions you’re familiar with from the original release will be available as bonus tracks on both the digital and (Rum Bar) CD versions.
The CD will be released by Rum Bar Records. You can pre-order it at our Big Cartel shop.
Striped pressed 500 copies on pink vinyl, which come with a poster and CD (this is not the Rum Bar version of the CD). Those are sold out. There will be another pressing. I’m not sure what color. I believe it will be vinyl only - no CDs/posters - but I’m not 100% certain about that either. I know, it’s a janky-ass operation I’ve got here, but we’re stuck with it. I have no idea when the second Striped pressing will be available as it’s entirely up to the whims of the pressing plant. That’s how things work these days.
Recess is also pressing three colors of vinyl. I believe they’re doing 500 copies of each color but don’t quote me on it. Again, I have no idea when they’ll arrive. When we know, you will. Everybody’s doing everything in their power to get these records pressed as quickly as possible.
You can pre-save the album now on Spotify and probably any other streaming service you use. To do so just click this handy link.
As noted above, the digital and Rum Bar CD versions of the album will contain the original album versions of Every Night and Totally. There are two more bonus tracks for digital and CD: alternate vocal takes of Panic and Thrift Store Girl.
I know some of you already bought the Striped pink vinyl/CD/poster package. We will be receiving a small number of those at some point to sell on our Big Cartel site. We will probably (not definitely) wait to sell them till the Recess vinyl is in our hands. If so, we’ll offer packages. They may or may not include other things.
So why am I telling you what we may or may not do? Why not just wait till we’ve figured it out? Good question, bud. Because I’d hate for you to spend an arm and a leg for the now-essentially-out-of-print Striped version when we’re going to have more in our U.S. shop eventually (although they may only be available as part of a package with the Recess vinyl, depending on when those are finished. No promises either way).
With all that out of the way, the main thing I want to say is I’m very happy with this remix and I hope you will be too. The digital version and CD will be released on Feb. 3rd.

Will the new SW Anthem shirt that is for sale on the Striped Music store be available in the SW big cartel store? I would love to get that and not pay the international shipping.
I remember buying an original copy off the merch table at a show in Janesville WI. in 1993. Looking forward to the remaster and a new album in 2023.
